Director Statement

Of all the projects I could do, I wanted to direct this film because it illustrates a journey relatable to anyone struggling for identity. I wrote this film to communicate the struggle of who you must be versus who you wish to be.

The feeling and emotion behind the story came from personal experience, but it lends to a greater issue of finding community and beauty in the struggle. I’ve lived with the characters for a long time, and wanted to tell a compelling yet entertaining story.

My overall goal for this film is to convey the messages I intended to in the writing, and for the audience to connect with it. I hope to use this as proof of concept for an eventual feature.
