Synopsis
Izzy is a lesbian highschooler, working at a snowball shop with her best friend, Taylor. She has a crush on a fellow peer, Janelle, and wants to ask her to the spring fling but just one problem: she can't tell if Janelle likes girls. Izzy and Taylor decide to rely on quirky sapphic stereotypes to figure out if she has a real chance with Janelle, involving nervous eye contact, screaming, and a messy ending.
About the Director
Samaria Falone Williams is a SCAD Atlanta Film and TV alumni. She is passionate about light hearted representation of black, LGBTQIA+, and plus sized individuals. From her first film "Cherry, Please" to her upcoming mini series, Falone Films never fails to elicit a reaction from the audience, touching the minds and hearts of all viewers.
Director Statement
Cherry, Please" was my first ever short film and I couldn't be more proud. It's an LGBTQ+ centered story, featuring an all black and female cast, exploring the nuances of social growing pains while being queer. This comedic coming of age story is relatable and uplifting, a project that I cannot wait to share!
